Texas

If you are not from Texas, you cannot appreciate the respect and rivalry that exists in a largely Mexican-American state. The state of Texas is not only known for its deep culture, great food and the Alamo, its also the victim of great-blood-shed, wars that occurred between natives of the west, the Spanish and indigenous, the Mexicans and Spanish and finally Texans and Mexico. When I say Texans of Tejanos, I am including Germans, Irish, French, Americans, Mexicans, Indians,Blacks, Asains, and any other people that helped build the great state of Texas. Native Texans all have a stake and responsibility to respect the history of Texas.

Make no mistake about it, Texas has always been a gun-toting, violent place and in its trail, has left a state that is now finally start to accept its true history. Other places speak about racial tensions between blacks, Mexicans and Anglos but with Texas' post civil rights generation, we are much more at ease with each other, because we are starting to realize the truth.

The issue of immigration is also a very sensitive topic among politicos and families alike. What is the reasoning behind the United States of America's immigration policy (which is already tough enough for native Mexicans) that wants to totally seal up the southern border?

This is typical of the older more conservative way of thinking. The Anglo communities attempted genocide in Texas against Tejanos of different color back in the late 1800’s until about 1920.

The U.S. cannot keep a people out of their native land. Mexico and the U.S. need to think creatively to attempt and ease the loss of life on the border. Through understanding and compromise, we can all make the U.S. and Mexico a very positive area of the world, capable of leading the global community through many a conflict.

Spurs baby!!!!

The Spurs are out on the road for the beginning of a two game stand in Seattle. This series is pretty much over, the Sonics don't stand a chance. Bring on the east coast champs!!

Well Conjunto fest ended this past weekend and I saw one of the best shows ever. Mingo Saldivar was the headliner Friday night, and he put on a show. He closed with 'Ring of Fire' but in Spanish and in the middle of the song, he jumped into the crowd, accordian and all; and was jumping and dancing with the crowd. He puts on a hell of a show, damn!! Acl fest is coming up in Austin in September and should be just as fun as last year. For now there are no other notable Austin/San Antonio shows coming up, except for NIN in Austin (which is sold out).

Hey what up?

Hey what up it is 420 and we all know what that means, earthday!!! Well I am really busy with my new job, its really cool and easy for know. Well who know what the future holds only the gods in the sky know the destiny of the earth.

And what is up with all the Hummers on the road? Don't they understand that they are directly causing gas prices to go up? Hey I guess they are overcompensating for other things, right?

Well everyone be safe, it is Fiesta time in San Antonio, so remeber the Alamo and all the Mexicanos and Anglos that died for our freedom in this beautiful state that is Texas, the Lone Star State.

It's been a while since I have posted something on here. Well MCI is about to be bought by Verizon, what is going on here!! Where is the comp? Well hopefully prices should stay low and service should be better. What is the future of it, no one knows except for the billionares.

Well SXSW is coming up in Austin and the line-up does not look as enticing as it did last year, but I will still probably go. Check out SXSW.com for more details.
